This weekend is the Lake Ashtabula Fishing Tournament.

Travel remains good, Sundstroms landing is probably the best bet for anyone looking to camp on the ice for the weekend. Plowed access and lots of plowed road makes it an easy spot to get ice castles out too. Fishing has slowed down a little bit with the last cold front. Fish seem to be a little bit more tight lipped. Smaller baits have seemed to be out producing anything else. Dead-sticking a minnow has also been producing some fish.
This weekend will be a busy one, plan to fish early to get the best bite. I am betting the fishing will really slow down once the traffic starts rolling on the lake.
There is still deep slush pockets in the area around the creek.
